The Grit List

Welcome to The Grit List wiki, essentially an interactive update of the original site. Update: The original site is now no more due to the loss of Geocites. I have taken the liberty of adding an attachment to the bottom of the page which is the old site copied and pasted when I started this Wiki. GCW Hopefully a wiki structure will allow people to add opinions (and useful gear beta) to the harder Grit routes (and some sandstone) pages so more information is out there for would-be ascensionists. Grades are split by region, but there is no further grouping yet imposed. We're now trying to apply a loose Safety rating (where 1 is deadly and 4 is very safe), and highlighting possible highballs when sufficient mats and spotters are employed. Best Ascent Style should record the current best known style in which the routes has been ascended (and other ascent annecdotes). More information is here: How to use and add to the Grit List. Please feel free to contribute however you can. In the spirit of openess, we request that you refrain from using pseudonyms; your opinions will carry much more weight if people know who is saying them.
